BY THE END OF 2016 I'D BUILT A GREAT BUSINESS MODEL
I’d grown my company’s revenue by 54x in 24 months.
People were flying from all over the world to train with me.
I had a bestselling book, and was running a high-level mentorship.
After the high of doing a two-day training, I found myself inexplicably low.
I couldn’t believe it.
Over the previous few months I’d moved my family into our dream home, created the company I’d dreamt of, and even lost 40lb.
So why did everything suddenly feel so damn difficult?
I took a long, hard look at myself, my life, and my business.
I’ve helped thousands of people to better understand their relationship with money.
There are nine major causes of stress in successful people, including sadness, shame, the inability to have fun, low self-worth, and putting others on a pedestal.
When these areas aren’t acknowledged, explored and reconciled, they cause low mood, feelings of anxiety, sleeplessness, and bad decision-making.
I addressed the sadness and shame that I’d been avoiding.
I dug deep into the subconscious reasons I was so averse to relinquishing control.
I identified the dark, shadowy elements in my psyche that kept me behaving as if my whole life was a response to incidents that occurred twenty and thirty years previously.
WHEN YOU DON'T RECONCILE YOUR PAIN AND SHAME, THEY SIT IN THE CORNERS OF YOUR MIND, WAITING TO BE ILLUMINATED BY THE SPOTLIGHT THAT'S ON YOU.
Everything is amplified by success.
You feel the net closing.
So you go deeper into avoidance:
You work harder and longer.
You numb with food and drink.
You medicate with your drug of choice.
You need help to sleep, help to wake up, help to think.
You feel lonely when you’re surrounded by people.
And, because you’re making ‘great money’, you feel guilty.
How dare you feel like this, when you have so much?
You don’t want to give up the money, so you sacrifice your peace of mind. it doesn't have to be this way.
The truth is, you’ve never really been at peace.
Maybe for the old fleeting moment.
Maybe for a couple of weeks by the beach, twenty years ago.
But long-term, sustainable, internal peace?
You wouldn’t even get it now if you jacked everything in and moved to a cabin by the ocean.
The truth is, you didn’t trade inner-happiness for cold-hard-cash.
I see it every day.
The actor who suddenly gains a ton of weight.
The young soccer star who’s unexpectedly injured and ruins his career.
The singer who starts indulging in reckless behaviour and can’t perform live.
Their external circumstances are battling with their internal beliefs.
This friction causes seemingly-inexplicable, self-sabotaging behaviours.
They’re easily explained, when you understand how your brain reacts to money.
I’m Michelle Lowbridge, and that’s what I do.
If you’re struggling with success, and don’t know where to turn.
If you just want to know what the feck your problem is, so you can sort it out.
If you’re open to putting a light on your darkest fears, in confidence.
Maybe I can help you.
